This year, KADC’s service project will sponsor Hope House, an organization that provides support to families in crisis and for adults with disabilities. They provide assistance of various kinds to persons with disabilities and provide housing, counseling, and support for clients, who are typically women and children, facing abuse. They have an in-house “store” in their Independence, Missouri, location where their clients and their children can “shop” for gifts for the holidays for their families.
KADC has agreed to help fundraise for their holiday store “wish list”. We will be providing the following QR codes at the KADC annual conference to give attendees a chance to donate to the cause. They also have a housing program where they assist clients with getting set up in an apartment, so they take donations like small kitchen appliances, dishes, tea towels, etc. They also have an “urgent needs” wish list on Amazon to provide clients with some of the basic living supplies.
Hope House is truly a worthy organization and deserving of KADC’s support.
